PostSubject: NHL Draft   Wed Jun 18, 2014 9:07 pm

Curious what anyone thinks about the upcoming draft. Here are the top 10. I grouped them in tiers. I really like Ritchie at 8 although he seems like a player Burke would take. Could you imagine him with Monahan? ANy thoughts on the top 10?

1. Reinhart

2. Ekblad

3. Bennett

---------------

4. Nylander

5. Draisaitl

6. Dal Colle

---------------

7. Ehlers

8. Ritchie

9. Fiala

10. Virtanen

---------------

I don't know about that. I think Nylander has sky rocketed even more after the combine. I'd personally pick Nylander over Dal Colle(doesn't stand out) and Draisaitl(speed).

I like Benett over Ekblad/Reinhart.

I hope the flames make a splash to move up and Draft ekblad. Not at the cost of brodie or anything like that though

Krauzer I would love to see that....but I think Florida asking price is insane. I still think having Ritchie play with Monahan would be awesome. They should trade down and get a player then Draft him. I bet a Ritchie goes around 10

I like Ritchie but I would be livid if we took him at 4. If we trade down ok I guess but only if it's worth it for what's coming back. I don't like Ritchie's inconsistency.

dude...he is 18 years old. Consistancy means stugatz at that age. He is a beast and can score. Some are comparing him to a more talented Lucic

Your right, consistency means crap, but when the kid, is known to be a physical beast, you have to worry about him with his history of concussion and shoulder injuries playing against boys. I think, there's better guys than Ritchie at 4, but i mean, your right. Your taking a risk, on whether or not he turns into Lucic. People said the same thing about Kassian. Kassian was suppose to be better than Lucic, but Lucic kept his physial edge, while Kassian tuned it down, yet still lacks discipline. Kassians coming around, but are teams willing to wait 5-6 years for a power forward to develop?

Personally, I'd pick for Skill. I even think, Virtanen has more tools than Ritchie, but Virtanen has a questionable toolbox. I think, Draisatl, Bennett, Ekblad, Reinhart, no specific order has to be top 4. Nylander, might be right in there too, with Dal Cole right there on the borderline.

History proves, that picking players because of their physical usually blows up in their faces.

if you're meaning flames to trade down then hell no..  If bennett is there at 4 i would love it.  besides, you all know flames will get 1st overall right? hahah Wink

I kinda hope they dont, i mean ekblad is great, but to lose out on a bennett just cause theres only 1 d in the top 10.. i dunno.  We shall see!

Your really sipping the Ritchie Kool aid eh? I'm not saying he's gonna be bad but just cause we have Brian Burke doesn't mean we have to pick the first pugnacious belligerent hostility quotient meeting truculent player we can get. There are 6 more players I'd pick over Ritchie. Again, kids gonna be good, but unless it was a decent addition we got from moving down, I'd rather keep 4 and pick one of the guys up there.

We could trade to like 7 or 8 to get Ritchie. I don't know man I just think we could make a better selection at 4 or 5.

4 we will take bennet if hes there. I really dont think they'll take ritchie then. If they got the 5th then It'd be worth the risk if we already drafted bennett in my opinion.

Oh, I had assumed the 4th would be going to the islanders if we traded for 5.
