PostDallas team blog season 4

Back in the Old WTP days, most of us had two teams, we just pretended we had one. For the most part, those that had several teams knew, except Krauzer who's still pissed about it.  Twisted Evil

Back then I noticed a trend, you had one team that feasted and another that had famine. One team you took very few risks on, the other, was damn the torpedo's full steam ahead.

guess which one dallas is?

I looked back at my lines from season one with Dallas.

Ladd-Zetterberg-Franzen
Glenncross LW 84 Little 84 Bourque RW 84
Letesu LW 79 Talbot 81 Connelly RW 78
Jeffery LW 78 Gomez 80 Pyatt RW 79

J. Johnson D 86-A. Mezarous D 85

C. Erhoff D 83-Wideman D 82

S. Hannah D 81 R. Ellis D 77

Am I better now?

Steen-Staal-ericksson
Nyquist-ott-jones
cooke-Weiss-Dvorak
Jeffery-pyatt-Weise

N.HJALMARSSON |DFD| 85
R.WHITNEY |OFD| 83
H.TALLINDER |DFD| 81
J.LEOPOLD |TWD| 81
R.HAINSEY |TWD| 81
C.COLAIACOVO |TWD| 80
T.BRODIE |OFD| 80
B.SALVADOR |DFD| 79

I'm gonna say not even close. I had some bad luck with re-rates, hainsey especially. I dumped a very high rated franzen for a very low rated Nqyuist but that was a futures trade.

That's where I'm at with this team I suppose, wishing for the future. Wishing that next season Weiss returns to 84 form (he will, he began the season with a hernia and didn't tell anyone, you know Detroit is pissed) can Staal rebound from years of medicority (who knows,..he will if he's traded) is Nyquist the next Zetterberg (you bet your ass he is)

My D is putrid, My offense isn't scary, this team has bottom feeder written all over it. That's exactly why they'll finish 5th in the west and make the playoffs and get elminated in the first round without putting up much of a fight.

This team has a case of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Too bad to actually challenge for the cup and too good to actually get a great pick. It doesn't look like that's going to change any time soon.

Moral of the story, sometimes you roll the dice and loose.

That said, and I'll always believe this about this league.

You're only one trade, or free agent signing away form being back on top.

hahahhahaha the best is when you convinced krauzer to trade your other guy a player. Or when thebutcher who pretended to be colt use to feed the ottawa gm info to get trades as well. LOL. I still think evil sometimes doesnt believe us to this day because of this.

I personally found being a gm of two teams was a lot (especially pretending to be someone else). I thought the same thing as fear, one team was your main focus while the other team was your vegas at 3am drunk team (lets f'ing do this). There is honestly no way in heck id be able to run 4 teams. I have a hard enough time with 2.

Good read again fear, you make me laugh kind sir.

Just so you know...I am not thebutcher lol.

I can relate to Fear though. I have pretty much kept Edmonton the same and done very little with them. I have been concentrating on Boston and making moves I wouldnt think of doing if it were Edmonton

LOL it was all in the past boys, no worries. We have it right by managing a team in the east and west in this league.

Could it be?

I think I actually like this dallas team now.

Steen-Staal-Grabner

I think this top line can hold it's own among a lot of other top lines out there. It's not highest rated line up in the league but it's got great speed and goal scoring potential. Grabner is a deceptively effective 82.

Nyquist-Ott-Hartnell

If I'm to make any ground on the teams with 90's on their top line, it has to be on my second line. Ott is not a very good offensive player. But, as Pavel Datsyuk would say "he's the guy pulling the piano" for Nyquist. Hartnell is treated like trash on this board, but he's always good for a 40 point season, at least 10 of those on the pp.

Moss-Weiss-Bourque

This is my problem line. All of these guys had terrible seasons in the real nhl, only moss however is going to drop anymore then they already are. Bourque has had him self a very good post season and might actually go back up.

Pyatt-Bourdue-Weiss

For a 4th line this one isn't terrible. Weiss is going up for sure next season due to his post season, but he's gravy right now nothing more.

My D is still a tire fire but D is the easiest position to upgrade in FA, so i'm not worried.

My goaltending took a hit moving halak who was heavily boosted to 88. Backstrom has a contract next year so he's not going anywhere, and I have his backup in my minors so i'm covered there.

I was me and Brindy. I don't remember getting you to trade with me like that. I do remember ending up with hall and seguin one year as I got your 1st rounder.

Ahh, yes. I remember. The massively one sided Joe Thorton deal which I swapped you my 1st round pick for and you ended up getting the 1 and 2 overall picks. I remember now.
