Back in the Old WTP days, most of us had two teams, we just pretended we had one. For the most part, those that had several teams knew, except Krauzer who's still pissed about it.
Back then I noticed a trend, you had one team that feasted and another that had famine. One team you took very few risks on, the other, was damn the torpedo's full steam ahead.
guess which one dallas is?
I looked back at my lines from season one with Dallas.

I'm gonna say not even close. I had some bad luck with re-rates, hainsey especially. I dumped a very high rated franzen for a very low rated Nqyuist but that was a futures trade.
That's where I'm at with this team I suppose, wishing for the future. Wishing that next season Weiss returns to 84 form (he will, he began the season with a hernia and didn't tell anyone, you know Detroit is pissed) can Staal rebound from years of medicority (who knows,..he will if he's traded) is Nyquist the next Zetterberg (you bet your ass he is)
My D is putrid, My offense isn't scary, this team has bottom feeder written all over it. That's exactly why they'll finish 5th in the west and make the playoffs and get elminated in the first round without putting up much of a fight.
This team has a case of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Too bad to actually challenge for the cup and too good to actually get a great pick. It doesn't look like that's going to change any time soon.
Moral of the story, sometimes you roll the dice and loose.
That said, and I'll always believe this about this league.
You're only one trade, or free agent signing away form being back on top.
